Applications and Limitations

For consent-based microphone response demonstrations, authorized privacy-equipment comparisons and controlled audio tests involving smartphones, digital voice recorders and recording pens with exposed microphones. Results depend on microphone response, microphone orientation, distance and room surfaces. IMPORTANT: This ultrasonic voice recorder blocker acts on microphones exposed to its ultrasonic field only. It is not expected to work when the recorder is inside a pocket, handbag, closed bag or behind other acoustic barriers. It cannot prevent the camera from recording video, does not erase files or encrypt recordings, and cannot guarantee distorted audio on every microphone.

Placement and Operation

Place the emitter on a stable surface with the ultrasonic array facing the uncovered recorder microphone, ideally at a comparable height with a clear sound path. Select a supported mode and evaluate a short sample with the target model. Ultrasound does not reliably pass through clothing, pockets, handbags or closed cases; neither full interference nor any particular range is guaranteed.
